Hanaball & the Key

Once there was a boy called Hanaball. Hanaball lived in Charmouth, and he loved to go down to the beach and play with any dogs that were there. He always went down a lane called Watmen Lane. There was only one house there, number 42 Watmen Lane.

One day, the 19th April, Hanaball had found a key in the lane with a message on it. It said:
Dear Whoever-finds-this-key,
the door is on your right.
Thank-you.

Hanaball said, “Where is this door, so I can find out what this is all about? It is time to find this door!”
Then Hanaball said “There’s the door – but why does it say ‘KEYHOLDER ENTER?’ He unlocked the door of number 42, Watmen Lane.

It led into a ship! There was a message there.
It said ‘If you are the boy called Hanaball, you can enter this world of Magic and Animals. You will never see it again, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance, and if you tell anyone about this place you will
never see day again.’
Hanaball entered the Magic World and saw lots of new and great things! But Hanaball knew if he told anyone he would be in so much trouble.
Hanaball often told everyone what he knew about everything – but hopefully this time he wouldn’t tell anyone.

But Hanaball did tell someone: his best friend Pinky. Pinky told Cheesey, and Cheesey told John.

So Hanaball got taken away by the Evil Villain and thought he would never see day again. But Pinky, Cheesy and John always knew that Hanaball would reappear in time, and after three years had passed, Hanaball was able to see his family. But Hanaball knew this would not be for long and after one week it was time for him to go back to the World of Magic.

Twenty years had passed and Hanaball was now thirty-seven years old. He was able to live the rest of his life free with his family, but he was mad because he had missed twenty years of his life. Hanaball knew if he was to tell anyone else about his time in the World of Magic he would miss twenty years of his life again!

After six years, Hanaball had two children called Jon and Chloe. They went to the World of Magic too, but they did not tell anyone what or who was there. The only thing they were allowed to tell was that they had once been to a Magic World.

Time passed, and Hanaball was fifty-eight years old, his children were fifteen years old and still at school.

At last Hanaball was happy, and he forgot all about the day he found the key to 42, Watmen Lane, and the World of Magic.

He didn’t know his children knew the secret too …!
